This review is from: Suncast SC3950 Double Grip Ergonomic Snow Shovel/Pusher Combo With Non-Stick Graphite 18-Inch Blade & Steel Wear Strip (Lawn & Patio) so i had back surgery several years ago and after our 3 blizzards last year in the washington d.c. area i decided this year to get an ergo type shovel.
ive seen curved ones. ive seen all sorts of other types, but i had NOT seen a double handle curve like this. im 6'2 and this is a good height for me. pros: - price - design - metal blade on the end - comfort holding - comfort while shoveling - extended depth on shovel head allows more snow cons: - the 2nd support handle kinda creaks when u use it.. its sturdy plastic however the locking mechanism could be better? (i wonder how long it will last>?) - the actual shovel head is far from wide.. great shovel. nice on the back to use (id rather shovel than use a snow blower.. cost and i do at least get exercise with shoveling) def worth it.. give it a try (oh yea - it was a HUGE pain unpacking it from the...Read more 11 of 11 people found the following review helpful: By This review is from: Suncast SC3950 Double Grip Ergonomic Snow Shovel/Pusher Combo With Non-Stick Graphite 18-Inch Blade & Steel Wear Strip (Lawn & Patio) Bought this shovel right before a very wet 6 inch snowfall. Couldn't have had better timing as this shovel saved my back. I've had bent-handle snow shovels before but this one is much better because you get better leverage and your hand is in a more natural position. The steel wear strip (or whatever it's called) is also very nice as it will prolong the shovel's life and is usefull for getting under ice. It can scratch though, but that's a given with a metal blade. 6 of 6 people found the following review helpful: Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Suncast SC3950 Double Grip Ergonomic Snow Shovel/Pusher Combo With Non-Stick Graphite 18-Inch Blade & Steel Wear Strip (Lawn & Patio) Although I live in Georgia, I bought this shovel to keep in the shed because I've lived in colder climes, and we do get the odd snowfall here. Its light weight and ergonomic design worked well during our epic January 2011 Ice Jam. I quickly shoveled the snow off my walks and driveway, then cleared a path down the road to a plowed main highway before the icy rain hit. My native-southerner neighbors were amused at first, then envious -- and ultimately grateful, since they could get to the drug/convenience store on the corner when most people couldn't go anywhere.
One quibble: The lower handle doesn't seem to be attached securely, which makes me wonder how long it would hold up. But as I am unlikely to encounter the conditions that would present a true test, I'll leave that question for others to answer. |
