Summary: Good Price 2007-06-08
Comment: I paid only $520 for my machine. It was a good deal. It looks great. It starts and works fine, but I have not gotten a chance to test it with real snow yet.

Summary: Snow Thrower Works Great 2007-03-29
Comment: I was very satisfied the delivery. The truck driver put the machine right where I wanted him to put it. I used the snow blower 2 times and both times were a great success. It really saved me a lot of time and effort.
This machine can be a little clunky or hard to move around, but as soon as you get used to it things are pretty good.

Summary: Seems like a good machine -- NOT as pictured 2007-03-06
Comment: Although we received ours yesterday, I haven't yet used this item, and generally that would stop me from reviewing it. However, it is NOT as pictured. It lacks both the headlight and the drivetrain release triggers, though these are pictured both in this ad here, and on the Poulan Pro webpage for this model.
Amazon has responded favorably to our request to correct this problem, but since it is still pictured incorrectly I wanted to post this review to warn others.
From shopping around a bit, I can say that this is still a good deal for an 8.5HP Tecumseh-engined 2-stage, but we had particularly wanted the headlight, which was a factor in our decision to purchase. I don't care too much about the drivetrain release triggers, but this detail further illustrates that the item pictured is not the item being sold, though the model number is in fact correct. Just fair warning.
Edit: We received just enough snow 2 days after this review for me to pull it out and use it. While it was a really small amount of snow, it was enough to verify that everything on the machine works as one would hope, the remote chute control is very nice, and (as seems true for all Snow-King engines), it started easily. The slow speeds are slow enough, the fast speeds are fast enough. Even with such a small amount of snow, I could tell this was a great upgrade from our old single-stage unit. At the time my original review was written, this machine was selling for $639.00
