There are a lot of these bent-handle snow shovels on the market, so somebody must like them. But that ain't me! They seem the opposite of "ergonomic" when you need to hoist your left arm over you head to toss a blade-full of snow into your neighbor's yard. And saying that a "lightweight" shovel is easier on your back is pure hokum. It's lightweight snow that we need, not lightweight shovels. This one -- if it's the same as the one my son bought for winter in Montreal -- has a metal strip to reinforce the blade, but the blade itself is too flimsy to last more than one session with anything heavier than fresh powder, let alone with iced-over or refrozen snow. Go to the nearest hardware store and look for the sturdiest straight-handled shovel; that's my advice.

Recommend look into buying a different shovel. This shovel is to small....and will not help you back regarless of the kink in the shovel handle.

this snow shovel served its purpose. i went on the theory that if i bought a snow shovel this year it probably would not snow. it worked flawlessly. no snow so this is about the best snow shovel made. the shovel however, seems to be well made and i am sure it will work as it should whenever the situation arises.
