this is an excellent tool for pushing snow. However, if you torque the Manplow, it will destroy it. I pushed snow and loaded the Manplow. To dislodge the snow, I flipped the Manplow to the left. I cleared a vast amount of snow in short order, but the Manplow snapped and broke after the first use. I contacted Amazon who exchanged it immediately. I would highly recommend the Manplow, but it must be used only in straight lines without twisting the plow and handles. this is NOT stated in the directions

IMHO, for the reason stated above, the Manplow would be a better product if the plow portion were made of metal rather than plastic.

This shovel just may be better than a snow blower. What used to take me 30 minutes with a regular shovel now takes 8-10 minutes. My neighbor who owns a snow blower had a ~5 minute head start on his walks and driveway and we both finished at the same time. It is that good. My technique is to start at the top of my driveway, and go straight down the middle, pushing snow into the road. Then I simply walk back up and take another couple passes on either side, then a few more, then a few clean up passes to clear what's left and I'm done. My sidewalk is even easier. And what a back saver! No more lifting, that is the best part. You just push snow where it needs to go. It almost makes shoveling fun...seeing how quickly you can do it!

If I had to list a couple negatives:

1) If you don't have a "smooth" sidewalk/drive, the blade will get caught on the "cracks" and you could get frustrated. You could go the opposite direction, of course.

2) The EZ glide...Read more

After reading the positive review on this product, I thought it would fit my needs perfectly, however, I am disappointed in the Manplow and I do not feel it is worth the money. For one thing, I find it rather heavy and awkward. It does push snow but it gets pretty heavy to push as the snow accumulates on the blade. And, yes, in deeper snow, it definitely accumulates! I live in Western New York where we are no strangers to snow. We get more snow than ice but if you buy the Manplow, be extremely careful not to try to move the blade over ice as it will chip and/or crack. After working with the Manplow for a while, I went back to my good, old dependable snow shovel with a semi-curved blade. It works like the Manplow but is much lighter and it holds up better on ice. Also, if the snow is light and fluffy, the Manplow works smoothly but if it is heavy, pushing becomes difficult. The idea behind the Manplow is good and it does help clear snow but for less money, a good snow shovel...Read more
