My Melt*A*Way Experience,

This review is from: Jonathan Green Melt-A-Way Snow & Ice Melter - 20 lb Bag 11303 (Lawn & Patio)
I purchased this product in January 2009 and spread it on our concrete walkway which is 12 years old and was still in original condition, at the time. We followed the directions for use and swept off all melted material. By the end of the winter we were greeted with a severely damaged (popped) walkway which required repair. When we spoke to the Jonathan Green company they claimed that there was nothing in this product which could cause the damage observed. They claimed the only reason our concrete "popped" was because the melted ice was reabsorbed into the porous concrete and refroze causing expansion and "popping". When I observed that this was not the first time melting and refreezing of ice had occurred on the walkway (we live in New England)and no prior damage had occurred, I received no further explanation. My repair cost is $2644.00.
Let the buyer beware!

Best Ice Melt on Market,

Used this Jonathan Green Melt-A-Way product on my nicolock pavers driveway and dek porch - it was by far the best product ever - kept working all winter without a problem. I LOVE THIS PRODUCT and would recommend it to everyone. ESPECIALLY COLD ICY SNOWY WINTER HERE ON LONG ISLAND.
I agree with the J.Greene Co. explanation for the popping of the bricks on that other review. Ice reforming can damage any spacing. Just ask the TITANIC.
