Garelick 89005 5-Foot Aluminum Snow Roof Rake Extension Pole

It's just like the other poles for the Garelick roof rake. This extension allows you to reach the roof edge of your two story home. Thus you are able to remove the snow from the few feet of your roof it would take to melt the underlying ice on a sunny day. It also allows you to reach further up the roof of a one story house. It will look like the pole is bending too much, but because the pole is so light you should quickly develop a sense of how to control the rake at the end. You probably need to be in at least decent shape to control a pole/rake 21 feet long. I got mine "used" from Amazon, and it looked like new, with at most some minor scratches.

Really great if you need to reach a bit further than the standard snow rake. However, I would only add one extension, as the weight and flex get to be considerable. I use the extension to get to the edge of my roof 3 stories above ground to keep the edges snow free and avoid ice dams over my rain gutters. I've used it for two seasons without complaints.

Rake did the job although I did not receive the 5/8" hog rings that were supposed to come with the rake, instead they sent plastic ties that broke. I suggest you get the rings before you start your roof job if you get the plastic pieces instead.
