This review is from: Fiskars 9671 27-1/2-Inch Emergency Snow Shovel (Lawn & Patio) I live in Chicago and I needed a shovel to dig my car out of the snow. This snow shovel is absolutely worthless. I tried to use it and the snow just flies off the shovel blade. Maybe with heavy wet snow it would be better, but I personally think the blade needs more depth. There is very little depth to the shovel blade. Look at other snow shovels and you will see that they can actually scoop up snow. Quality seems okay, but it does not work as a SNOW shovel. It might be good for kids playing in the sand, but little else. By Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Fiskars 9671 27-1/2-Inch Emergency Snow Shovel (Lawn & Patio) it's a little shovel, which is fine if that is what you are looking for. I keep it in the back of my SUV and use it sparingly. It's small and apparently it doesn't like snow because it just slides right off of it as soon as you pick it up. Don't expect miracles from this shovel. It did not shovel out my parking space that well (or heal my neighbor's broken leg).Your best best is to put this shovel in your trunk and use it as a last resort. Perhaps it would be useful in an avalanche, or maybe it would be good if you are stuck in some sand. I just know that it did not help me with shoveling out my car during the big storms that hit the mid-atlantic in 2009/2010. By Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Fiskars 9671 27-1/2-Inch Emergency Snow Shovel (Lawn & Patio) This is an excellent extra shovel to keep in the car for emergencies. It is not deep enough for regular snow shoveling but is perfect for shoveling the snow that's surrounding the tires & allows you to get underneath the car. The blade is steel & the handle is very solid. I was using it to crack the ice/snow and was shoveling large chunks. The shovel is very good quality & considering the abuse I just put it through, should last for quite awhile. |
