Bully Tools 92201 Heavy Duty Sidewalk and Ice Chopper with D-Grip Long Steel Handle

Living in the Northeast has been rough this winter. After being bombarded with snow I decided to get this ice chopper to clear off that packed snow and ice that the snow shovel can't get at effectively. It's not as light weight as I thought it would be. It's also not as simple as just lifting it and having gravity "do all of the work". It definitely requires some upper body strength to scrape the pavement clean. For the really tough patches of ice, I just gave up. This ice chopper wasn't going to crack it. But the craftmanship is sturdy and looks as if it will last for many more winters to come. At the end of the day, it's a tool with no frills and does what it's supposed to.

great product -- but don't use it for more than a few minutes at a time as you will feel like you have arthritis in your hands for a few days straight from the force of slamming it down on the ice. You won't notice it right away -- your hands will cramp up later.

so don't do a huge job with it all at one time or even all in one day - space it out to protect the jarring your hands endure. (yes - I am a girl, but still...)

It came in a box the size of a twin mattress.

I used this ice chopper once for about 8 minutes. That one time is all it took for the handle to completely crack off. Too bad that it's US made. Really very disappointing. I WILL NOT be purchasing anything else from Bully Tools. That for sure and for certain.
