After reading reviews of spreaders labeled as "junk", I wanted to be sure and get a good one. This one should easily handle my four-acre lawn without a lot of re-loading. From the 13" pneumatic tires, to the gauge of steel used, to how incredibly well the parts were blister packed in assembly sequence, this is a quality product from top to bottom. The instructions were fairly easy to follow, took a little over an hour to assemble. It has such a quality feel and construction, I can't imagine they could have made it any better. Way to go American made! 5 of 5 people found the following review helpful: By yard man "yard man" (West Hartford Ct.) - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Brinly-Hardy Broadcast Spreader - 175-Lb. Capacity, Model# BS36BH (Misc.) I read one of the other reviews that said it was made in the USA and it made him proud. I also share those sentiments. Each nut and bolt is accounted for and shrink wrapped in sections that correspond to the directions ! It was easy to build - it will make a good few hour project for most people. The hopper comes all pre-assembled and you can cut off each parts panel from this long strip and then you will have eacnh and every part you need to follow each very well detailed instructions. Each shrink wrapped parts panel is labeled by panel a, b, c, ...and follows the pictures of assembly also labeled to match the parts panel. Very ingenious attention to the plisght of the home owener who needs to build one of these. This is a heavy duty spreader that can hold a couple of bags or more of fertilizer, etc. After owning some flimsy tow behinds this was a welcome find. 5 of 5 people found the following review helpful: By Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Brinly-Hardy Broadcast Spreader - 175-Lb. Capacity, Model# BS36BH (Misc.) I don't write many reviews but I just had to with this item. Item took a little bit to put together and perhaps the directions could use some clarification but the item was well packed, all the hardware well marked and this piece is well made. The 175# hopper is huge and you need to refill very little with this spreader. It is overall well constructed and is made more heavy duty than others I have seen. I used it only once but was well impressed. It sure beat pushing a Scot's spreader by hand over 2 acres! |
