Save your money on the sprayer and just buy the solution and pick up a cheap sprayer at the hardware store. I bet it will be much better. Also, there were no application instructions anywhere. I don't know if I should put it down before, during or after ice and snow, or how much solution I should use per application. 13 of 13 people found the following review helpful:  Environmentally friendly and works as advertised (IF you follow the instructions), This review is from: Bare Ground Solutions BGDS-1 Liquid Snow & Ice Melt Gallon Sprayer and Gallon Solution Kit (Lawn & Patio) I have used this stuff religiously for years on our winding hilly driveway as well as on our cedar staircase (used daily by the USPS carrier) and it works great -- it's not really meant for applying after-the-fact; for best results, it's got to be applied beforehand and per label instructions. If I don't get a chance to pre-treat with it, then I sweep/shovel and lay down a coating afterwards. Even if the snow overwhelms the Bare Ground, the Bare Ground keeps the snow from bonding to the surface (so that you can easily sweep/scoop the accumulation away -- even after folks have walked or driven over the treated snow -- and not have to worry about leaving a slick surface).
No, it's not rock salt-- no anti-icing compound is going to compete with halite or calcium chloride, but then nothing is going to be as toxic to the environment as those two, either. I have been using Bare Ground for several years with great success. We have reorder at least once and I am still using the sprayer that came with the first order. I apply this product just before the snow. Also it does not effect concrete like solid deicers. |
