First things first. Read the manual as it tells you to check all of your oils. Mine did come with the proper amount of oil in the engine; but it also said to check the gearcase oil. I read several reviews on this model saying it didn't have any oil in the case and it froze on them breaking the auger and the shear bolts. Mine did have some oil in it but not up to the minimum level. You need a dipstick to check this as the minimum level from the top cover is 1.8 inches and the max is 1.6 inches. I did go thru and check all of the adjustments just to make sure all were correct and it was all perfect. This snow blower started without the choke on, 20 degrees outside and it started on the second pull. It ran strong thru 8 or more inches of snow and threw it at least 40 feet as advertised. I have the new Ariens 208cc engine on mine which is the upgrade I assume from the Briggs and Stratton engine. Both are great engines but the new one boasts 9.5 ft lbs of torque over the 9.0 on the Briggs...Read more
