Summary: This is a tool, not just a toy. 2009-11-06
Comment: I am delighted to find this shovel online because we own one bought locally several years ago, but I now have two young sons who both must have a snow shovel to avoid fights. I've seen other brands in the store, but none have compared, and I long ago removed the Frostie label.
This shovel is tough enough that I use it myself when I clear our steps. The big shovel is too large to scoop sideways along each step, but this one fits perfectly, and it has a nice, strong edge to really lift heavy snow. Because it is plastic, it doesn't damage the paint on the stairs as much as our larger, metal shovel does.
I should mention that I like this shovel enough that I often end up doing part of the sidewalk with it as well. That really kills my back, though, of course, because it is short--sized for an elementary school child, I'd say.
I'm not looking forward to snow-removal season, but I will be delighted to have two of these fantastic little shovels. This is a tool, not a toy.
